   CATEGORIES  OF PRIZE'S OF THE YEAR ROUND  ACTIVITIES

 SOME OF THE  PROLIFIC ACTIVITIES THAT WERE COMPULSORY  WERE 

SPORTS INCLUDING GYM, SINGING PATRIOTIC SONGS AND CHORAL NUMBERS

 STORY TELLING CONTEST, DRAWING CONTEST,  SPELLING BEE CONTEST.

ELOCUTION, DEBATES WERE CONDUCTED BY ONGOING PROBLEMS THAT 

AFFECTED MIDDLE CLASS FAMILIES AND SO TO BRING TO THEIR NOTICE THE

EFFECT AND THEIR REACTIONS WAS REAL  CHALLENGING AT FIRST.

AFTER THE ANNUAL DAY THE CATERING WAS  BY  A PROMINENT  BUSSINESSMAN

AND  THIS INCULCATED THE PRIDE OF SHARING POTLUCK BY  EVERYONE 

PRESENT.

OUR GRACE  WAS RECITED BY A COMMUNITY  GENIUS  WHO THOUGHT US 

NEVER TO BE NERVOUS OR HAVE COLD FEET ,  

the announcer of prize distribution  would call out names of those present at the function

and the other invitees would be happy and clapping  for all the winners , some who had won 

more then one prize had to carry trophy home some received special books  others a shield and 

a certificate.

 

IT WAS UNBELIEVABLE HOW THIS SHIFT WAS PROMPTLY  DISRUPTED BY

UNFORESEEN EVENTS.

TODAY WE ARE NO LONGER IN THESE  DISCIPLINES  WE ARE GONE INTO THE 

WORLD OF OUR OWN  AND WE STILL MANAGE TO KEEP OUR SANITY  AWARDED 

 OR NOT. WE READ THE SAME HEADLINES WE TELL THE SAME STORIES AND 

EXACTLY BY ERROR  MISS OUT  ON  TURNING ON THE RADIO AND LISTENING

TO MERRY -GO - ROUND  A PROGRAM FOR CHILDREN, ALL THIS USED TO BE 

 A BROADCAST ON  LOCAL  CEYLON NETWORK RADIO . HI TO ALL THE SILLY 

DEDICATIONS VIA INLAND .

 MY  PAD HAS RUN OUT I HAVE TO PURCHASE A NEW ONE TO COORDINATE WITH THE NEW ONE. UNTIL

coveted litany in town

 Ave marie sae de graca, Ave marie mae de deus, in hombre padre spirit sant,  we have still kept our traditions alive by reciting a litany wherever the location maybe.

family children are sent to invite neighbour accordingly they tell the time this how they have to say " there is litany at our place at 3:30 pm , you are invited please do come"

then the very same day people start arriving, all the people gather and say the litany afterwards they are served drinks and food.☑

 they carry our lady from house to house as per the custom and children of the family are forced to go and join in this custom, Sometime they bring the statue of Jesus  from a particular chapel or church they invite family and friends it is kept only for certain hours then it is returned back the same day.  The our Lady custom you can keep it for one day.  They have litany dedicated to the cross, devout people gather and pray.∵♧♧♧

I am no less of staunch pious and devout person, in my spare time cathecism of litany, rosary,  and special novenas dedication, people join charismatic groups or thersere- orde  they organise meetings  and pray overs  every fortnight and their cultural scenario is well managed.
 Some engage in secular nation activities too.

there they have internal woes none so ever, financial problems maybe  some suffer from major illness  they carry their happy go lucky nature  in a peaceful manner.

they choose special hymns for the occasion, people like to sing praise to the lord, while in procession they either sing  or pray with candle in hand, during midnight mass people carry 
lanterns in procession and light lampiaos in their homes.♧
